KUNG FU
Our kung fu classes are instructed in the traditional manner of Chinese martial arts, the 5 styles that we teach are taught in separate classes, each having it's own characteristics. Starting with the basic stances that leads into developing striking power in all techniques. Coordinating hand and arm movements for unlimited hand striking, an array of kicks ranging from low to high to the high aerial kicks and also includes throws and grappling techniques to give you the option to use what works best for you. As students start to do two man sets
which involves a partner, learning to block, hand strikes or kicks thrown by the partner, students start to put what they learn to use, helping students to control their adrenaline and elevate their confidence. All in all developing complete athletic ability with confidence, able to adapt to any situation that arises from a friendly game of volleyball to defending oneself.

We start by teaching the correct techniques for punching and kicking including the use of the elbows, knees and head butting when in a pinch and speaking about a pinch they are also effective in certain situations to create openings for other techniques or means of escape. The techniques in our self-defense classes are extracted from our traditional kung fu forms which are still very effective today. Once a students confidence starts to elevate and if they desire to achieve and advance to a different level they can make a smooth transition into the traditional kung fu classes without skipping a beat.

This is not your typical bouncy aerobic kickboxing class, this is Real Chinese Kung Fu Training with Real Technique for Real Use. Without learning any of the forms or weapons it is just Kickboxing at it’s best. Like boxing a great workout but without the blood or black eyes. We start out with some warm ups to get the blood flowing then we get into real punching combinations followed by some real kicking drills then we put them together with some footwork. You will learn how to punch and kick correctly to avoid injuries and if you ever have to use your new skills for self-defense you will deliver them with power.

TAI CHI
Tai Chi is mostly known for relieving stress but that’s not all it does, it is recommended for so many ways it improves one‘s health. As an internal style it strengthens and improves the health of internal organs and their functions that could lead to a healthier and happier life. The slow and continuous movements makes it easy to remember the patterns, also known by some as moving meditation. People having joint injuries and or arthritis will find that the slow and smooth way tai chi is perform allows them to go through a full range of motion improving the muscles around the joints where as faster activities inflames the joints and limits your desire to exercise. Students will start by learning single movements and then connecting then together to create the Tai Chi form itself. The movements of tai chi is only a small part of the style, correct breathing plays an important role in any activity and in tai chi you connect it with the movements bringing more oxygen throughout the whole body feeling refreshed. When someone is upset or hyperventilating, people say count to ten. Counting to ten was an indirect way of saying control your breathing, doing so your breathing would return to normal.
